Chapter Summaries & Analyses

Part 2, Chapter 23 Summary: “Addy: Tuesday, July 14”

Addy is studying the envelope with the gender of her sister’s baby when Keely surprises her with a FaceTime call. Keely tells her she wanted to fly in for the one-third birthday party but thought it might be canceled because of Reggie’s death. Keely urges Addy to focus on going to Peru in a few weeks rather than worrying about Jake or Reggie’s death. Keely also tells Addy that she understands Addy is hesitant to get involved in another romantic relationship, using Keely’s relationship with Cooper as an example. She tells Addy that it’s okay for them to take things slowly. Addy goes downstairs and mentions the call from Keely to her mother. Addy’s mother surprises her by being supportive of the idea of Keely and Addy together.

Part 2, Chapter 24 Summary: “Addy: Tuesday, July 14”

The birthday party turns into a discussion of Reggie’s death and Maeve’s research. Maeve tells everyone that it looks as though Reggie’s death was an accident, that he might have been trying to free himself when the chair tipped over and he hit his head. Addy suggests that Reggie’s death was intentional but made to look like an accident like Brandon’s death months before. Maeve says the Vengeance is Mine group is talking about Reggie’s death, but they don’t seem to be involved.
