There is a large crowd outside Vermillion, and Malcolm and Laird are there to film. Before they begin, Vanessa tells Drake she tried to kiss Adrian, but he rejected her. Malcolm is surprised, and Drake can’t see how anyone would turn her down. They get “in character,” and Malcolm and Laird film as Drake presents Vanessa with a ring. They stop filming just as she gasps at the beautiful ring.

With a captive audience, Brent and Joel arrived to present a business plan to Vanessa inspired by her lifelong quest to keep her lip balm warm by stowing it in her bra. The plan is well-crafted, presented professionally, and organized, sharply contrasting with Brent’s other failed endeavors. He’s also created a website, which Annabel helped with. Adrian gave Brent money to get the plan off the ground, and Drake also plans to invest. Brent doesn’t need Vanessa’s help, but he wants her approval. She is proud of him and agrees to become an investor.
